Inter-House Chess and Draughts
Did you know that Milton Junior School students are divided into 2 Houses - Red House and Green House? Each term, our students battle against each other in an Inter-House Competition.
This term, it was the turn of our Chess and Draughts Club students! Normally, board games such as these are an individual activity but our students relished the opportunity to support each other and earn points for their respective Houses.
Watch our short video to see who won!
We believe friendly competition boosts self esteem and there is plenty of academic research to support the benefits of healthy competition at school: students pay more attention, they try harder and they enjoy being part of a team.
Win or lose, the comaradery of House competitions is an important and positive part of student life at Milton Junior School!
