Milton Junior School is built on a philosophy of inclusion, the promotion of cooperation and mutual respect and the development of self awareness and self-confidence in our students.
Our mainstay is to nurture confident, well adjusted, socially responsible young citizens who have respect for the richly varied environment and community in which they have the privilege to live and learn.

At Milton Junior School, we believe that when children enjoy learning, they carry this through with them throughout life.
A love of learning and the opportunity to expand horizons are encouraged from the early days of creative interaction in Milton Kindergarten through to the academic heights of research projects in Milton Junior School.
Opportunities are provided for students to take ownership of their learning at appropriate levels, encouraging them to experiment, explore and enquire, to expand and enhance their knowledge as they grow in confidence and independence. Students are encouraged and empowered to work independently as well as in collaborative groups — whatever their age.

Research shows that intellectual curiosity has just as much influence on performance as hard work!
We recognise that each child has individual talents and strengths. We believe that learning is a journey of exploration and discovery. By offering a broad range of subjects and learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom, we encourage students to be curious – to discover, to explore, to research!
Our small class sizes allow teachers the opportunity to spend time with each of our students. This individualised approach to each child’s development encourages enthusiasm for learning. It allows students the freedom and confidence to think differently and to aim high!
